Payments sector AI hiring hits year-high in August

The proportion of banks, payment providers, cards programmes and processors companies hiring for artificial intelligence related positions rose to a year-high in August 2021, with 43.7% of the companies included in our analysis recruiting for at least one such position.

I hiring within the banks, cards and payment sectors is up by 41.9% year-on-year in August. Moreover, AI hiring in August within the banking and payments sectors is up by one-third compared to the previous month.

When it came to the proportion of all job openings that were linked to artificial intelligence, related job postings dropped in August 2021, with 2.8% of newly posted job advertisements being linked to the topic.

This latest figure was an increase compared to the 2.2% of newly advertised jobs that were linked to artificial intelligence in the equivalent month a year ago.

The average among all companies stood at 1.6% in August 2021.
